Right before the whole world falls into lockdown and covid-19 craze, I was in Sri Lanka for 10-days working remotely just to be able to surf everyday.
One of the weekend, I tagged along a friend to go watch the national surf championship that’s happening in Hikkaduwa. Here are some snaps of the finals
Look out for that young 5 yo, he’s a rising grom!
Shot on: Prime 85mm
Some shots taken over a 3-day urban retreat festival at the Palace of the Golden Horses.
Here are my 2018 Lightroom Preset Pack
These incredible Lightroom presets are great for adding beautiful colors and liveliness to your photos. Works best to bring out the colors and balance out the sky in the background with your foreground subject to create harmony.
This pilot preset pack comes with 6 styles to choose from:
- Dawn
- Moody
- Color Pop
- Breeze
- Beach
- Sunset
Use them on any travel, landscape, portrait, or beach photos and you will create some cool photos.
DM me to purchase.
Some shots taken on my free day over a weekend event in Hong Kong.
Spent a day with my friends exploring Kuala Lumpur, my backyard city.
Had the pleasure to work with the amazing DahMakan team in Malaysia to photograph a series of their upcoming new meals.
Dahmakan is the leading food delivery service in Malaysia. They believe that eating well is more than just a basic need. They are making this daily possibility happier, simpler and better for everyone.

“Hey mims, you wanna shoot some ice cream?” - ofla
”Ouu what kinda ice cream ? yeah sure!” - me
That’s how we started another collaboration series. This time we work together for a product photoshoot for Kindkones; a vegan friendly chemical-free ice cream store. We are assigned to take photos specifically for their selected upcoming products.
I was mostly in charge of photography, coloring and gifs. Ofla was leading the styling and some delicious close ups. So much fun! Ice cream taste great, shoot was fun, edits turn out yummy, amazing collab!
Now, go get some kindkones near you!
Spent a day at Canopus Retreat when visiting Thulusdhoo island. A small laid back town looking out to crystal clear waters surrounded by lagoons.
This little upscale boutique hotel has a curated sense of aesthetics to it’s decor and an amazing hospitality that one would almost think they’re experiencing a luxury escape on a private island in local Maldives.
The hotel premise overlooks a panoramic view of the lagoon surrounding the island, which extends as far as the surf breaks “Cokes” and “Chickens”.
Tall palms, perfect shades, breeze and swings. It’s the perfect place to unplug and soak into the beach vibes.
Time away from responsibilities and daily hustles are necessary for the creative minds. It’s the only time it gets space to perform at it’s best.
Have you scheduled your next retreat yet?

Throwback to one of my favourite chill dinner parties between shoots back at AFest Cancun. Simple, well-lit and breezy location. So blessed.
Love the vibe for this beach party, so much great memories. Hanging star lights, picnic area, shisha, fire acrobats, amazing people, good music and a full house dance floor.
Live Your Quest.
Went on a group tour to my very first China trip to Mount Huangshan last winter.
Known as "The Loveliest Mountain of China", it lives up to its spectacular scenic view. Environmentally, it's as if we're inside the Kung Fu Panda World or World of Warcraft but this is alive and real.
I did mention it's winter, but no we didn't see any snow. We did however saw the sea of clouds and the early morning mist on the way up via cable car. Super sweet journey up and down.
To sum it in one word: Heavenly.
Home sweet home.
Never thought I'll appreciate my room so much after being away for a whole month.
Snuggling back into my natural habitat.
Wandering in the streets of San Francisco after the rain.
SF city in a nutshell, diverse group of people, functioning historical trams moving around the city, lots of traffic light and wait-for-the-light-before-you-cross-the-road, eclectic mix of Victorian and modern architecture plus hilly up and down roads that makes you forget if you're on a hill or a loop of wave. This city is like a cool art montage.
This is my version of 'The Crossing', inspired by Joevic Yeban.
San Francisco's iconic Golden Gate Bridge from the beach promenade.
Visit to the Alcatraz Island.
"Why would I wanna go visit a prison?" that's the first thing I said when I was looking for recommendation of places to visit while in SF. Haha but after some research this become my first place to visit when I arrive. It's got some funny history to it.
Not quite a functional fort. Cool prison idea but not very evergreen. This place got famous especially in the movie "Escape from Alcatraz". Now it serves as a very profitable travel site.
I saw a shark on the way back with ferry. I think that great white shark attack clip on Youtube spotted at the island is quite legit.
Breakfast goals.
Compilation of my recent coffee and tea. Photos taken on Iphone 6.
This is where it all started. At that time I was a 3D animation and VFX artist. Bought my first camera and officially enter the world of photography and videography when I started my company; 28Spin, back in 2010.
I was taking all of the product shots for the store as well as the content creator and event videographer for all videography in 28spin Youtube channel here.
28Spin is an online professional yo-yo store that sells professional yo-yos and return tops (in canada) from all around the world. It’s a little side hustle of ours that started small and took off in a short period of time.
We are also the ones behind the scene of the yo-yoing community and organising events for the Malaysian National Yo-yo Championships league table. Our store have all brands of yo-yo from all around the world. We were the Malaysian distributor for 3 major yo-yo-yo brands in the world; YoyoFactory, YoYoJam and C3yoyodesign.
Here are some curated product photos that I took during my service at 28Spin. These product photos are used in all of our web banners, socials, e-commerce store and blog write ups.
It was a great experience running 28Spin. I’ve grown in many aspects of skills when running my own business; from photography, videography, competitive yo-yoing, performance, marketing, sales, event organisation, blog write ups, ,customer service, physical store to community yo-yo workshops.
I’ve now left the company to pursue my passions.
